Epsom is a town located on the outskirts of London, a couple of miles inside the M25 ring, most famous for its racecourse on which the Epsom Derby is run annually.
A reasonably small town, Epsom is home to under 30,000 residents and is well served for shopping with an attractive high street, the Ashley shopping centre and Odeon cinema providing locals with essentials and entertainment.
Epsom experienced something of a media love-in when it was named the best place to live by a Channel Four show in 2005 and also placed well in a poll run by Halifax in terms of quality of life, so it appears that the town is a happy one.
As it is situated close to London and the M25, it has excellent commuter links with the capital in terms of both road and rail, with Epsom railway station a gateway to London.
It is a growing town, evidenced by the number of new flats currently flooding the market, and these are available for under £100,000 which could be considered a snip seeing as the town is generally revered and it is about 40 minutes train ride from London.
