Warwick is a medieval town in Warwickshire, 11 miles south of Coventry. It is connected to the M40 linking it to London and Birmingham. It has a railway station with direct services to Lemmington Spa, London, Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Birmingham Airport is only 20 miles away.
The town is very romantic containing a historic castle, winding lanes, and ramshackle architecture mixing Tudor and 17th-century buildings. The countryside penetrates the centre of the town with the Avon meadows and it is also broken up by the old canal. Warwick is additionally known for its racecourse which hosts several televised horse racing meetings a year and houses a small golf course.
The Univeristy of Warwick brings with it a throng of students so there is lots going on in the town with annual festivals and a buzzing student scene with cafes and bars aplenty. There are also a number of great schools nearby.
There is a range of property on offer in Warwick, the historic centre being the best place to buy. Streets with a view of the castle such as Castle Lane and Mill Street are most popular with cottages going for around £200 000. The suburbans of Myton Road and Spinney Hill are also popular and there is some nice Victorian housing in Priory Park. Flats start from £100 000 with period townhouses going for up to £750 000.
