ONTHEMARKET - AULDYN MEADOW, RAMSEY, IM8 2TT
Ramsey in Cambridgeshire is a small market town with a population of only 8,000 and is trying to increase housing capacity with a 650 home development scheme near RAF Upwood. There has been resistance to this scheme as the improved transport links are not thought to outweigh the prospect of increased traffic to the town. Apart from detached homes there are only a small number of properties available on the market at any one time with prices at the higher end of the market reaching over £400,000 for a 4 bedroom property. The rental market with the exception of a few flats is minimal at best and there would be very few places in the country with such a small rental market.
The lack of transport infrastructure is not just holding back development but also industry with large vehicles struggling to reach the town via only minor roads. This also affects parking availability and the safety of school children who wish to cycle on the roads. The biggest yearly event in Ramsey is the August Bank Holiday 1940s Weekend which benefits charities in the town by celebrating and reliving the lifestyle and events of the 1940's.
The Adzuna recency index score for this search is 1.87, suggesting that demand for properties for sale in Ramsey is increasing.
The average house price for available Ramsey homes is currently £377,091, 0% lower than the national average value for all homes which is £374,213.
The standard deviation of house prices for the results of this search is 341,264.
