Uxbridge is a large town in Greater London located 15 miles north-west of central London. It conveniently has an underground station and is situated at the end of the Metroploitan and Picadilly lines. It is very well-connected by extensive bus links too. It is also home to the picturesque Grand Union Canal which connects London with Birmingham.
About a 20-minute walk from Uxbridge is Cowley Lock, Huntsmoor Park, Uxbridge Common and the Berkshire countryside, all great for walking. To the south is Yiewsley and West Drayton which has a train station for Reading, London, Oxford or Slough.
Uxbridge is home to Brunel University so has a range of student facilities and entertainment on offer. It also has two shopping centres: The Mall Pavillions and Chimes to keep the shoppers busy. Again a range of property is on offer and is much cheaper compared to that nearby in central London. Housing tends to be modern but there are some older Tudor buildings available in nearby villages such as Pinner.
