Tamworth is a town in Staffordshire, 14 miles from Birmingham. It is connected by the A5 and M42 and has a train station with rail links to Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby.
It has a population of 58 200 and was England's original capital being situated in the middle of the country. It is home to the beautiful Tamworth Castle and has maintained aspects of its medieval heritage whilst providing the usual amenities of a contemporary town. It is home to an indoor snow dome and is near Drayton Manor theme park. It also has a shopping centre, leisure park, and a few bars and restaurants although if you're after nightlife the nearby Birmingham is advised for a wider array of choice.
