Stockport is a town in Greater Manchester, 6 miles south-east of the city centre. It has a great transport system home to the M60 and A6 and a mainline train station that connects Stockport directly to Manchester and London. Manchester Airport is only 5 miles away.
Stockport is one of the greenest cities in the north-west of England with a huge 45 per cent of the region being greenbelt. It also neighbours the Peak District and has 30 parks so has an abundance of greenery.
The town centre has a market town feel with quaint cobbled streets but traffic can get very busy with arterial A-roads cutting through. The sought-after suburbs are Wilmslow, Poynton, High Grove, Didsbury, Macclesfield and Bramhall. Closer to the town centre are the areas of Heaton Norris, Heaton Chap and Heaton Moor which all have a good mix of apartments, traditional and family housing.
