Perth & Kinross is located in the heart of Scotland and has a population of just over 43,000. The area has seen a real growth in the number of flats and apartments that have come onto the market and the area has been voted the best place to live in Scotland, in addition to being voted Scottish Tourism City of the year 2012 and the Best Quality of Life in Britain 2012. This is because of areas like Abernethy, Scone and Errol which those outside Scotland maybe more familiar with, and Perths great nightlife, football club (St Johnstone) and great leisure facilities including an ice rink.
The available housing stock is diverse though there are less semi-detached and terraced houses available than detached properties, with more flats available than any other type of housing. There is a shortage of brand new homes coming onto the market in Perth though there is no shortage of properties on the market overall, a five bedroom luxury property can be bought for less than £400,000 ensuring that there is value within the market as well as diversity. Conversely with the exception of flats and apartments the rental market in Perth is far from buoyant with too few properties available for rent.
