Moray, in the North East corner of Scotland is a great business base as well as a beautiful area near the coast. Tourism, Forestry and the Public Sector employ the majority of the inhabitants, and a huge amount of the Scottish food industry is centered here.
Moray is still very much in touch with its true Scottish heritage, and a good proportion of the inhabitants here still speak fluent Gaelic. In fact 10% of people here speak Gaelic better than they do English, though this may change as the areas population slowly grows.

In the Scottish wilds there are many smaller cottages to be found, but it may be a case of scouting around to see what you can find. Many homes have been in the same family for generations so the older properties available to purchase are very variable.
The closest City is Aberdeen, around a two hour drive away, so this really is a spot for those wanting a country life.
