Lincoln is the county town of Lincolnshire and famous for Lincoln Cathedral, once the tallest man-made structure in the world. With extensive history, Lincoln is a popular place to live and work with many large companies nearby. In addition many retail and industrial parks abound and the city is a major tourist destination.
Since 2010 there has been a rail service to London, although this is infrequent, and the city is only served by A and B roads rather than on the motorway network. Whilst this may be occasionally inconvenient, it has helped Lincoln retain its unique rural atmosphere.
The area has a number of good primary and secondary schools as well as Bishop Grosseteste University and the University of Lincoln.
Due to its popularity as a place to live Lincoln offers property of all sizes and is a good location for buy-to-let opportunities, especially student accommodation. As to be expected, there are a lot of large houses converted into flats and extensive older more substantial property as well as recently built housing stock.
