Situated on the east coast of County Antrim in Northern Ireland, Larne is a major seaport with both passenger and freight capabilities.
Belfast is reached via the A8 and the A2, the Antrim coast road, also serves the town. Train-wise the town is well serviced by the Belfast Larne railway line. The town has a number of parks and open areas and is well supplied with shops and leisure facilities including diving, golf, swimming etc. There are also bird-watching areas and Areas of Special Scientific Interest.
There are a number of local primary schools and three secondary schools as well as the Northern Regional College.
