Eastbourne is a popular seaside destination in East Sussex with a population of around 90,000. It is famed for being a town for people nearing or enjoying retirement, but Eastbourne offers a wealth of housing options for a wide range of people.
The town is possibly best known for its pier which stretches 300m out to sea. It is a popular tourist attraction and attracts many visitors each year. Also on the must-visit list is Beachy Head, the dramatic and picturesque cliff overlooking a lighthouse looking out on the sea.
Properties either tend to be flats or terraced housing and reasonably priced. Flats are generally between the £60,000-£80,000 mark whilst if you are looking for a house, you can usually get something decent for under £200,000.
Eastbourne is a couple of hours drive from London, so possibly a touch far for a commute. Therefore, family homes would generally be occupied by people working in the area. Family-wise Eastbourne is a superb place for education and the beachside location would provide an excellent place for growing children.
However, it is still something of a retirement nirvana and the flats are perfect for individuals and couples looking to see out their leisure time by the sea.
