Carlisle is a city located in Cumbria, in the North of England. On the border of England and Scotland, it has a population of around 110,000.
Carlisle is a large and populous city with a diverse array of amenities for all occasions. Property prices in the city are relatively low when compared with other major cities, but are on the rise as it becomes a more popular choice for first-time buyers owing to the council's efforts to promote the city and attract business and residents to the area.
Warwick Bridge, Wetheral and Cumwhinton are all popular choices for residential, suburban style homes, whilst new developments in the Eden Park and Lowry Gardens areas are known to be stylish and modern in their design. Such properties tend to be apartment or complex-style housing, with up to two bedrooms, and therefore are considered less suitable for families.
As a city which has long since been considered under-developed, Carlisle is currently coming into its own, with new developments and a range of financial incentives to make a home in the area. Whether property in the city will be a good long term investment, though, remains unclear.
