Caerphilly is a large town in South Wales with a population of around 30,000. Lying within the country of Glamorgan, it is within easy commuting distance of both Newport and Cardiff, two of the major Welsh cities.
With its own developing high street, and a growing industrial park, Caerphilly is a rural community with all of the amenities one would expect from a commuter town. It has a surprisingly active historical, social and musical scene, with a variety of festivals and events on offer, particularly in the summer season.
The town has developed in recent years mainly as a residential centre. New areas, such as Energlyn, consist of mainly detached and semi-detached houses which have sprung up around the older parts of the town. If you are in search of property with more of a history to it, the centre has a few older properties on offer; however one would pay significantly more for not a lot more floor space.
Caerphilly is an established commuter town in a popular rural area, and is therefore popular with middle to high income families and professionals.
