The Merseyside town of Bootle is home to around 78,000 people. It is handy for Liverpool, which is just 4 miles to the south, and for the M57 motorway. John Lennon Airport is close by. There are two railway stations, linking the town with Liverpool. The Bootle area is served by the New Strand shopping centre.
You'll find plenty of terraced houses in Bootle, with more spacious Victorian villas in the area known as Bootle Village. In general though, there is much less in the way of detached property in the Bootle area.
Districts such as Netherton were rebuilt quite significantly following World War II and they offer a considerable amount of later 20th century property, including many semi-detached, estate style properties. The dockside areas of Bootle, once in decline, are now experiencing significant urban regeneration and redevelopment, including more modern semis, as well as some flats and apartments.
For the most exclusive properties, try places such as Orrell Lane, Harrison Drive and Westfields Drive. You'll find more middle-of-the-range property in the neighbourhoods of Haworth Drive and Spencer Place. For more modest homes, try the areas around Gray Street, Miranda Road, Hero Street, Moore Street, Kipling Street and Shakespeare Street.
