The Lancashire coastal resort of Blackpool is famous for its illuminations and seaside fun. It has been nicknamed "the Vegas of the North". Blackpool is handy for the M55 and has a rail link to nearby Preston for the West Coast Mainline. The town attracts thousands of visitors every year and is home to around 35,000 people. Blackpool has its own airport for charter flights, while Manchester's International Airport is around an hour's journey away.
Blackpool grew to prominence with the coming of the railways, so there is plenty of Victorian building in the town, including many streets of sturdy Victorian terraces. You'll find newer semi-detached and detached houses, too, which tend to be more common outside the town centre.
You'll find the most competitively priced and affordable terraced houses in places like Lily Street, Wall Street and Stanley Road. For middle-of-the-range properties, try the areas around West View Avenue, Harrison Street and Links Road.
If you're looking for spacious property in a more highly desirable area, try the neighbourhoods of Birley Street, Church Street, Geldof Drive, Wilton Parade or Queen Street.
