The capital of Scotland is based on the east side of the country and is one of two main commerce and travel hubs in the country.
Edinburgh is a key city in the north of Britain providing cultural and educational excellence in the form of the Edinburgh Fringe festival and Edinburgh University. It is a cosmopolitan city with superb rail and road links to Glasgow and England and is right on the North Sea, but calling it a seaside city might be a tad ambitious.
