A suburb of Southampton, Eastleigh is a low cost, out of town alternative to the city.
Conveniently located on the connection of the M3 and the M27, Eastleigh provides easy access for most of the South Coast, as well as being on a direct road and rail link to central London.
Eastleigh is a fairly modern town, mainly serving as a destination for commuters to Southampton and Portsmouth. Being only a stop away from Southampton, it is ideally situated for workers and entertainment seekers as the town itself is a little low on things to do.
The Swan Centre would be the hub of the town, possessing as it does a cinema, bowling alley and arcade of big name shops.
In 2006 it was voted in the top ten of the best places to live in Britain, so there must be something going for it.
The outskirts of the city are the cheapest with single bedroom flats being the order of the day for around 100,000. For such a well-situated town, that is a reasonable price.
