Cambridge is a university city in the centre of Cambridgeshire. Although the majority of its centre is based around institutions of higher education, much of the surrounding areas are now famous for their software and biological engineering industries.
As most of the town centre is occupied by incredibly historical university buildings, retail centres and tourist attractions, prices are at a premium in such areas. However, if one is willing to travel a bit further out of town one can find attractive properties with more space, and at a reasonable price. Areas such as Trumpington and Queen Edith's fall well within the boundaries of the city, and benefit from larger properties with more attractive and leafy surroundings.
