The Kent town of Ashford offers substantial amounts of housing, mostly in modern, post-war developments. Ashford's website describes the place as "one of the fastest growing towns between London and the Continent." Ashford continues to attract new residents, who wish to benefit from its swift and regular rail links to London, with St Pancras station just 37 minutes away by train. Ashford is served by the M20, which is also the main route to the Channel crossings, so traffic in the area is often heavy.
There are some small terraced houses in the town centre and some flats. The area around Magazine Road offers more substantial Victorian and Georgian townhouses. Typically though, housing is based on estates. Those within easy reach of Ashford's station tend to be in demand, such as Willesborough, Park Farm or the area around Mill Court.
