Renfrewshire has a population of approx 170,000 and around four times the number of flats available for rent as there are houses. There are also nearly 3 times the numbers of flats for sale as there are houses and the top prices for houses in the Bridge of Weir area of Renfrewshire attract sales of between 650,000 to 1,000,000. Whereas in Paisley a one bedroom flat can be acquired for as little as 35,000 or rented for as little as 250 pcm. The main areas of Renfrewshire are Paisley, Renfrew and Erskine with properties in Erskine being as low as 249,000 for a 4 bedroom detached house with slightly higher prices in Renfrew, whereas the same property in Paisley may cost between 450,000 and 600,000.
Renfrewshire has excellent transport links in the form of Glasgow International Airport, the M8 and the Erskine Bridge, it is home to the University of the West of Scotland, St Mirren Football Club and the Braehead Arena sports ground.
