Leicester is the county town of Leicestershire in the East Midlands area of England and close to Birmingham.
In close proximity to the M1 motorway, the city is very cosmopolitan with an ethnically diverse population. Excellent rail services run north and south from Leicester on the Midland Main Line, to London, Birmingham and Peterborough in just over an hour and to Sheffield, Leeds and York within two hours. The area is considered to be one of the busiest in the country and the M1, M69 and M6 offer access to the UK's motorway network although often congested. Good local bus links exist from St Margaret's Bus Station and Haymarket Bus Station.
Home to two universities, the University of Leicester and the De Montfort University, the area is well supplied with primary and secondary schools of varying standards and achievements. With the largest economy in the East Midlands, shopping and leisure facilities abound to suit all tastes.
Due to its diverse nature and good travel links, Leicester offers good rental opportunities for property bought to let as well as for personal use. A wide range of property is available to suit all budgets from older terraced accommodation to newly built detached homes.
