Set in Hertfordshire, just under 25 miles from the centre of London, Hemel Hempstead has largely been developed since the end of the World War II to provide housing for those displaced during the blitz. Hemel is divided into residential areas each with its own shops, pubs etc. It is a very popular place to live and work with extensive employment opportunities afforded by numerous large multinational companies with a presence either in the town or nearby.
Transport links are excellent, as would be expected with a town built relatively recently, and the main line between London Euston and the Midlands runs through Hemel and Apsley railway stations. The M1 is a short distance away and the M25 just a few miles to the south, affording easy access to the north, south, east and west of the country.
There are six secondary schools locally and three fee-paying schools, in addition to the West Herts College campus. Leisure facilities abound and the area is excellent for families and commuters.
Property in Hemel Hempstead ranges from very desirable detached houses in Felden, to large mixed developments built in the 1970s in Woodhall Farm. The area offers property size and location to suit all tastes and pockets.
