Sitting inside the boundaries of the sought after county of Cheshire, Ellesmere Port is a ferry ride across the Mersey away from Liverpool in the north-west of England.
Employment in the town is generally available in the industrial sector, coming in the shape of a car factory, oil refinery and a chemical works. However, there is also a booming retail sector with the Cheshire Oaks outlet village and Coliseum shopping complex dominating the south side of the town.
It is well served by the railways and the M53 and M56 run right through it, linking the town with Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales. As such, major cities are easily accessible, should the above shopping complexes not be sufficient, and seaside towns also well within a day's drive in the summer.
The Blue Planet Aquarium is also a good day out and the range of shopping and other entertainments should satisfy families in the area.
As with many expanding towns, the majority of properties in Ellesmere Port are flats and terraced houses but, again as with many in the area, these properties can be bought for well under 100,000 so a bargain for people looking to get their first family home or people looking to make money in the rental market.
Should your budget stretch a little further, the area of Little Sutton is an exclusive part of Ellesmere Port, located on the west part of town near the golf course and boasts some lovely 4/5 bedroom family homes for around 450,000.
