Chelmsford is a large city, and the county town of Essex. It is located in the East of England, around thirty miles away from central London.
Chelmsford is currently the subject of a major redevelopment project, and has historically been an affordable place to live. As such there is a great variety of property on offer to suit every budget and taste. A new development in the West end of town called Park Central is a promising choice for young and discerning professionals, with a variety of luxury apartments, as well as retail and entertainment developments. Although this is the largest, similar projects have been completed across town, on Waterloo Lane and Melbourne Court.
More conventional family homes are, of course, also available in areas such as Baddow Road and Chelmer Village. These properties tend to have larger gardens and more parking space, as well as sufficient bedrooms for a growing family.
Because of its recent redevelopment it is hard to tell whether Chelmsford properties will retain their worth. The results of attempts to attract young professionals to the area will make themselves known in a few years.
